Satellite offers many channels of TV and Radio from all over the world, received via a small dish. It has a much greater capacity than traditional Terrestrial Television, which is delivered via ground based transmitters. There are hundreds of satellites in the sky, delivering information all over the world. We believe satellite is the best way to receive your Television signals especially in areas where Freeview signals are weak or your relay transmitter doesn’t carry all the Freeview Channels.
The two most popular systems in the UK are Freesat and Sky
Freesat is the Free To Air Service from the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 etc. Launched in 2008 it currently offers over 170 channels, inc all Regions of BBC and ITV television, Radio and High Definition TV. It currently offers over 20 HD Channels, with more to come.
There is no contract and no monthly subscription for Freesat. Just the initial cost of the receiver, dish and installation. If you have a Sky dish already then this may be able to feed your Freesat Receivers.
This opens up the possibility of running multiple Sky and Freesat boxes from one dish. You may need to change the LNB on your dish, but thats it. No extra amplifiers, switches etc. This makes Freesat the ideal product not only for your main TV but to feed extra rooms, like the childrens bedrooms, with no monthly subcriptions.

Freesat also have PVR options. The Freesat Receivers are manufactured by Arris. They come with two satellite tuners. Which allow you to record one channel whilst watching another, or record two channels at the same time. With a Wideband LNB, you can record up to 4 Channels simultaneously. These also allows you to record HD TV, watch Catch Up – iPlayer, ITV X, My5 etc
Freesat have now launched “freetime”.These receivers offer all the additional benefits of Freesat, with improved connectivity – for example ‘On Demand’ Catch Up Services from BBC iPlayer, ITV X, My5, You Tube, Netfilx, Prime Video, BritBox and more. They also offer a seamless ‘Rewind’ of Catch Up over the last 7 days – Simply scroll backward thru the Programme Guide (EPG) & any available programmes can be watched at the press of a button.
Freesat really is excellent value for money with no ongoing costs. It automatically updates with any new Software or Channels – something thats not as seamless with Freeview! Also, it is not affected by the issues associated with 4G/5G Interefence.

Sky is the Market Leader in the UK, with over 12 million subscribers. It offers unrivalled content, inc Sports, Films, High Definition, 4K UHD & deals with Netfilx, Discovery + & other Streaming Partners . Sky offers a heavily subsidised receiver in return for a monthly charge. the more you pay, the more channels you receive. For sheer quantity Sky is unbeatable.
There are currently over 60 High Definition channels on the Sky Q service. Covering Sports, Movies, Music, Documentaries, History, Childrens TV and more.
Sky Q offers UHD 4K & Multiroom HD, with additional Mini Boxes for each TV.
There are hundreds of foreign language stations available in the UK. If you or your family are from overseas this is a great way to stay in touch with home. Maybe you are learning a new language. Many channels are free to receive. All thats needed is a small dish, typically 60cm, and a Free To Air Satellite Receiver. This could receive one of the satellites from operators such as Astra, Hotbird, Eutelsat or Hispasat. These offer a wide range of TV channels form Germany, France, Spain, Poland, Greece, Turkey, Croatia, Kurdistan, Italy and more.
